He stood 6 feet tall, and was amazing to watch. He walked across an empty field but took flight when he saw my dog. The wing span is 6.5 feet. So big and majestic. What a beauty

new outdoor cam
My husband received an outdoor camera for Christmas
that takes a picture when it detects movement.
He mounted it on one of our trees and within 5 minutes we had our first wildlife picture.

Black-necked Stilt
Stole this picture of the internet. A couple of days ago I spotted this bird in a marsh off Lake Matthews Dr. I came home and looked it up and found it to be a Black-necked Stilt. They grow to be about 14" high. As shown in the picture of above it walks the edges of marshy areas picking out all kinds of insects.

another victim
My dog won't tolerate any vermin in the yard, including squirrels.
